Empty disk /w invalid FAT/NTFS/EXFAT boot sectors (edited)

#1 Post by stenovitz »

Hi

One of my main (non-system) 3TB SATA disks got very slow over the past week. A basic CHKDSK /r /f revealed alot of bad sectors. I got lucky and was able to backup about 99,9% of data.

- subsequently I used Win7's disk management to delete the (sole) partition and create a new partition + normal NTFS format.

So the disk is empty and 'free to play' so to say.

- Right now TestDisk runs an advanced scan and so far it has found
0 D FAT16 >32M : Invalid FAT boot sector
0 D FAT32 LBA: Invalid FAT boot sector
0 D FAT12: Invalid NTFS or EXFAT boot
0 D HPFS - NTFS: check_FAT: Can't read FAT boot sector - Invalid FAT boot sector
0 D FAT32 (still analyzing)

I'll add the log to this post as soon as its done, but any clue at this time?
Again: No important data of importance on the disk.

Edit: seems like there's no running log file. Heres a screenshot of the analysis so far:
