I've been running a "Quick Search" (TestDisk version 7.0) from OS X 10.11.2 on a 5tb external hard drive (NTFS) whose boot partition became corrupted. I've managed to get rid of the extra space on the front of drive and realign sectors with Disk Probe, as of now the disk is showing as RAW. Anyhow, so I'm running the Quick Search and it's been going for about 14+ hours now but it seems that the closer it gets to the end, the slower things go. It is already showing the necessary partition (only one partition on disk) and I was curious if it was safe to stop the quick search where it is now (about 93%) and still be able to write changes to the disk. I just don't want to stop the search and have to repeat the 14+ hours I've spent searching the disk.

RAW means that you have a partition in your partition table and often indicates a problem with a boot sector or file system.
When your partition in your partition table is still correct, a boot sector diagnose could help.
It's often not as much time consuming like searching for partitions running Quick- and Deeper Search!
Can you copy and paste the content of your testdisk.log into your next post?
So I'd able to check your current partition structure (partition table).
On NTFS can you run a diagnose on windows?
