External HDD RAW instead of NTFS

#1 Post by askingquestions »

Hi, since I took the HDD out of my PC and wanted to start using it as an external USB HDD I found that the file system is suddenly RAW instead of NTFS. The PC hadn't been used for about a year, but the last time the PC was booted the HDD worked properly.
I am fiddling with Testdisk since.
The HDD was listed, but it was not possible to list the files.
Originally the filesystem was NTFS, but now it somehow changed to RAW.
My questions are:
I got the message (screenshot) 'The harddisk seem s too small: Check the harddisk size: HD jumpers settings, BIOS detection...
How can I proceed now?
I created an Image of the HDD which is on my laptop. Could I recover the date from that image.dd file and if so how?
Cheers

You've got only a message that a partition was found which ends far beyond your disk limit and has no significance.
Probably found by any remnants?
When you press enter you'll get to the result.
When no partition was found, you can try to run Deeper Search too.
Can you copy and paste the content of your testdisk.log into your next post?
You'll find it within your testdisk folder.
