Wrong Geometry?

#1 Post by Spawn »

Hello, when I try to Analyze my flash drive (SanDisk 8GB) this is what it says:
1.jpg
1.jpg (49.65 KiB) Viewed 1932 times
After Quick Search this is the result:
2.jpg
2.jpg (46.34 KiB) Viewed 1932 times
And then I tried to change the heads from the Geometry menu using the advised number of heads per cylinder and then I go back to Analyze again but it says:
3.jpg
3.jpg (52.4 KiB) Viewed 1932 times
Next reply is the continuation...

Can you boot from a Linux LiveCD/LiveUSB and run TestDisk from it ?
I wonder why the reported disk capacity is only 4GB.

Here is the continuation, My bad, it's only 4GB :? . When I changed the geometry of the drive to the one that was adviced(by changing the heads to 16 instead of 255), I decided to go to Advanced menu and then Boot this is what is says:
4.jpg
4.jpg (60.92 KiB) Viewed 1925 times
After that i decided to change the geometry back to the default one(by changing the heads to 255 instead to 16) and go again to Advanced menu and Boot but this is the result:
5.jpg
5.jpg (50.96 KiB) Viewed 1925 times
What should I do? I'm confused because I'm still new when using TestDisk. I haven't boot yet from LiveCD/LiveUSB. Thank for the suggestion sir! I''ll try it and then let you know.
