Problem with USB HD

#1 Post by Bojan »

Hi Forum,
Recently I discovered a problem with USB HD which was not there before - w'7 can't access the drive any more and wants to format it.. while it is perfectly OK for XP machine.
I tried couple of things, but whatever I do, w7 system can't access the drive that was accessible before, and still is for XP (and linux, running on my Samsung TV).
I downloaded both versions of Testdisk (64 and windows), and w'7 version detects only RAW healthy partition, while XP (and USB disk works OK on that machine) detects Intel/PC partition.

I need to have access to USB disk from both machines
How should I proceed ? Should I select Intel/DOS partition and hope for the best?

Thank you in advance!

Run TestDisk, select the disk, use PC/Intel (should be selected by default in your case), Advanced, select the partition, Boot, RebuildBS, List.
If you can see your files, choose Write, confirm, Quit
