Can't Open File System problem? - Extended WD Mybook Harddisk

#1 Post by devilbat87 »

Hi,everyone

My 2TB extended WD Mybook harddisk suddenly became RAW.
And I can't access and need me to format.

I tried process TeskDisk, but after [analysis] when I click show list files, TestDisk shown
"Can't open file system. Filesystem seems demaged"

So I tried to [Advance] >[Boot]
Disk /dev/sdc - 2000 GB / 1862 GiB - CHS 243197 255 63
Partition Start End Size in sectors
1 * HPFS - NTFS 0 32 33 243197 57 60 3906961408
Boot sector Status: OK
Backup boot sector Status: OK
Sectors are identical.

A valid NTFS Boot sector must be present in order to access any data; even if the partition is not bootable.

And after [Rebuild BS] and the result is same.
But when I click [Repair MFT]
TestDisk shown
"Can't open file system. Filesystem seems demaged"

Anything I'm missing? Thanks for all helping~

Run "cmd" (right click run as administrator) and "chkdsk /f d:" (replace d: by the correct drive letter).
If it doesn't work, try PhotoRec. It should be able to recover your data even if it doesn't recover the original filenames.
