NTFS - Partition: Read Error

Hi,

my search didn't solve the problem yet, and I think I made it only worse.

So, I've got an external HDD with 2 TB which was formated as NTFS. One day it wasn't recognised in Windows 10. I checked disk management and the HDD was shown as RAW.

I've downloaded TestDisk and followed an instruction as far as possible to change it back to NTFS. Unfortunately I can't tell excatly what I have done - sorry for that. I think I analysed the partitions and proceeded to "write" and confirmed that. Furthermore I wrote the MBR new with TestDisk after there seemed to be a problem with the MBR.

I would like to backup the data or recover them but I don't get access to the disk.

If I try to access the disk via TestDisk, I've got the error Partition: Read Error. I think you can find the most information in the attached screenshots, I don't know which information are relevant. Please let me kow if you need more specific information and what I can do, to recover the data of the hdd.
If I try it with PhotoRec, it takes an eternity and there are a lot of sector errors...

Try to clone your disk to a new empty one as described in https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf chapters "DDRescue: data recovery from damaged disk" and "Creating a live USB".
Good luck
