Scanning 500 gb hard drive using Testdisk
I have a 500 gb SATA drive that won't boot up and I have it plugged into a working Dell Optiplex 3020 - Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit scanning with Testdisk. I started the scan Monday using the Analyze scan and started at about 6,000 cylinders. I didn't check the pc till this morning and I brought the pc out of sleep mode and it still is scanning from about the same 6,000 cylinders. Does the Testdisk software not scan when the pc is in sleep mode? Testdisk does see the partition and the Seagate serial number so it is scanning.

If your computer is in sleep mode, all process including testdisk are freezed. Disable the sleep mode to avoid the problem...
