exfat 2tb hdd - accidentally ran chkdsk

#1 Post by Michell »

I accidentally ran chkdsk on my hdd. And lost a lot of files.

I have recovered the folder “found000” and got 90gb of text files in few hundred thousand files 🙄 so long so good. But it will take years to sort out again.

Is it possible to reverse chkdsk ?

Change the file system back ?

In the menu after search I have pressed “t” for change the file system, but I can’t find exFat ?

When I press “P” list files then I can see my missing folders with the right name but they are all marked in red ?
How do I undelete / recover all these folders and files ?

Big thanks in advance 🙏

Using TestDisk, Advanced, you can copy the files marked in red.
Using fidentify, you can find the correct file extension of the files in the lost+found directory

When copying it says,: Copying, please wait... 58 ok, 297488 failed

Why is that ?

And when I run fidentify I just opens for few seconds and then close the program again ? 🤔

Just nothing is going my way 😞
