Hi all,

i tried so many different recovery software and finally i found testdisk and i wish it can help me recover the partition table.
my problem is on my WD 1TB HDD, the partition table was lost after rebooted the win8. my win10 PC showed 2TB and no drive letter attached. :?: :?: 2TB??
i believe the partition table is wrong, and i can list the file after the quick scan.

Here is what i did:
1)
> Intel > Analyse > Quick Search

Disk /dev/sdb - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121601 255 63
Current partition structure:
Partition Start End Size in sectors
1 P EFI GPT 0 0 2 267349 89 4 4294967295
Warning: Bad ending head (CHS and LBA don't match)
No partition is bootable

--
2)
After the Quick Search , here is the result:

Disk /dev/sdb - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121601 255 63
Warning: the current number of heads per cylinder is 255
but the correct value may be 128.
You can use the Geometry menu to change this value.
It's something to try if
- some partitions are not found by TestDisk
- or the partition table can not be written because partitions overlap.

3)
Disk /dev/sdb - 1000 GB / 931 GiB - CHS 121601 255 63
Partition Start End Size in sectors
D HPFS - NTFS 0 32 33 130 138 8 2095104 [Windows RE tools]
>D FAT32 130 138 9 176 110 62 737280 [EFI System Partition] [SYSTEM]
D HPFS - NTFS 192 192 1 119020 89 45 1908965376 [OS]
D HPFS - NTFS 119020 89 46 119077 183 18 921600
D HPFS - NTFS 119077 183 19 121601 57 56 40540160 [Recovery Image]

can you one help me how to recovery my partition? Thank you so much and happy new year.

Can you select EFI GPT instead of Intel after selecting your disk in TestDisk ?
