Hi,
Windows 10 professional 64 bits on an AMD X3 computer, 4TB WD HDD with a 2.2TB partition having deleted files.
Rescueded files are copied to a Seagate 4TB expansion drive.
Microsoft standard security applied.

As long as the number of recovered files increase over time there is no problem.
If you disabled some file types before starting you should begin a new recovery with no disabled file types using the latest version of photorec which is 7.2-WIP at the time.

Thanks, I'll try that.
In the mean time I did a recovery with the Linux version.
That one easily found the SES file and could continue at any point.

Your biggest problem is solved now.

Of course I have a video that shows the moment of skipping back at 1:11.
You did not understand my last answer. As long as Photorec recovers new files (as could be seen by the increase of the "recovered" counter that increases from ...79 to ...80 any decrease of the sector counter does not play a role.

Hi,
Here is some output.
end - skipback - time
1679025648 - 1656962424
1679669396 - 1657772864
....
1692711440 - 1658980776 - 24:41:48
1694250920 - 1659024184 - 25:08:22
1699757448 - 1660796376 - 35:37:26
1699954792 - 1660757760 - 36:08:18

So this means it will run for 2 months or so to get to the end?

I am lacking a crystal ball unfortunately.
It depends on where your information is located and on the degree of fragmentation.
It could last even longer or shorter!

Maybe you have unreadable sectors?
You could duplicate your drive into a SSD with a capacity of 4 TB which is about €310,- currently in Germany.
That would at least exclude slowdowns caused by unreadable sectors and decrease access times when Photorec is moving forth and back.
That may speed up the process.

Tested with the PowerShell Repair-Volume X –Scan command.
All fine.
Anyway, thanks for your help and patience.
