All 1TB Data Gone, Help!

#1 Post by muhlisgursoy »

Hi everyone,

2 days ago, my photo archive, 1 TB HDD suffered an accidental quick format. Specifically, I was looking for the Storage Space setting in the Windows control panel. I clicked create and the OS immediately formatted my 2 partitioned HDD into 1 empty partition (about 5 seconds, I think it is quick format). I removed the HDD from the pool and unformatted it (still in seconds).

I tried a few recovery programs like Recuva, Easeus Data Recovery, GetDataBack but none of them detected my files. I tried Testdisk but still, it didn't detect any files on my HDD. I made sure I didn't write any files (regularly checked Task Manager if there is write activity on the HDD). How can I retrieve my files back? Can you guys help me, I'm a newbie in recovery issues :(

I tried Photorec (and qPhotorec), and it didn't detect anything, unfortunately. I feel some settings are wrong but I don't know what setting.

My problem is that I can't feel your settings.
