.apple files after succesful recovery

#1 Post by 47peejay »

I used Photorec to succesfully recover mainly video files from a 1Tb HDD that had been accidentally formatted by my child. In the 5 folders Photorec created are a number of files with ending .apple. Can anyone explain what these files are and if they can be safely deleted. Thanks

They are metadata stored in AppleSingle Format and AppleDouble Format
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppleSingl ... le_formats
They are considered useless by most.
