PhotoRec Stops Early ??

I have run PhotoRec on my MacBook (to try and recover files from a BootCamp win7 partition that has been deleted and overwritten with a Mac partition - but not wiped). When I try to scan sectors 409k to 97550k, it only reaches about a third of the way then simply says 'task complete' and goes to a 'logout' prompt. There is no lack of space on the destination drive....

Any ideas ?

I'm scanning a largely empty OSX partition under which there used to be a BootCamp Win7 partition, to recover files that were in the Win 7 partition.

I have made several attempts, but Photorec quits (giving "process complete" and logout prompt) after only 3% of sectors scanned. The destination drive has plenty of space. Can you help ?

Can you check using latest 6.14-WIP version ? Does the program crash ? (segmentation fault message, core dump...)

Segmentation fault here.

I'm running 6.14-WIP on OS X Lion kernel version 11.4.0. I'm doing a recovery on a UFS drive (another mac in target mode) over Firewire.

I'm getting through about half the disk before i get a segmentation fault. I tried modifying photorec.ses to pick back up at the beginning but i can't get it to actually reload an old session (even though it offers, it doesn't actually do it).

I don't see any related errors in system.log

I'd love to help troubleshoot this further but i don't really know where to look...

Can you send a zip archive with the latest file recovered by PhotoRec ? The problem may be in the function checking the file content.

I am having the same problem on a MacBook Pro (Segmentation fault: 11) recovering from an external drive that I formatted. I formatted and encrypted it, after I copied the data to another drive which died, I mean completely died (no spinning up, just blinking light and beeping), so there's no possibility of recovery from that one. What are the chances...

Photorec stops on the same file every time. I wonder if there's a way to get the program to start recovery after that file, or ignore it. I tried attaching the file but it is 322k compressed, which is over the size limit for this forum. It is a picture file that opens but only shows a small portion of the image.
