m2ts being recovered as ts

I have several large m2ts files (2-10gb each) on a harddrive that I'm trying to recover. I have all the options selected in photorec. However, instead of recovering these m2ts files, it's recovering these files as ts files that are smaller portions of the original m2ts files.
For example, if there was a 10 minute m2ts file originally, it's being recovered as 4 ts files that contain the full 10 minute video, but each file has a portion of the 10 minutes. Is there a way to recover the original m2ts files in tact?
