Files resized after recovery??

Would really appreciate help!
I tried to recover JPEGs from a Samsung Galaxy S2. At first, it seemed to work. I got 1627 JPEGs out of it. However, then I looked at the file sizes. Almost all of them are between 50k and 100k! For full size pictures I would expect roughly 1m - 2m approx. In other words, the files seem to be around 20x too small!
Does anyone have any clever ideas?
