system crashed during long Photo rec scan

#1 Post by civic13 »

My PC crashed/restarted itself during a long Photo rec "JPG" scan (>9hours)
during the scan I saw that there were a few thousand JPG files found.
Is there any chance to recover what was done prior to the crash.
I set the destination drive as a USB connected drive but didn't see any new folder on it.
shouldn't something have been visible on its root directory ?

The recovered files should still be in recup_dir.1 directory.
Even if a bug is/was present in PhotoRec, the whole system should not crash. Do you know if the problem occurs because the CPU was overheating, bad memory, no free space on disk... ?
