In Place Recovery

#1 Post by russell »

I've located the lost partition. Is it possible to do an "in-place" recovery of the partition, in other words can i restore the partition to the same drive without using an extra drive.

Yes, it's what TestDisk do, after Analyse, Quick Search,..., Write: it rewrite the partition table, it's an in-place recovery.
An example can be seen in http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step
