Cylinder size

#1 Post by UserRed »

Hi, i try to recover data from a Maxtor 6Y080L0. On http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/e ... uage=en_US there details about CHS:

ACTUAL CYL 158,816
MAX CYL 16,383

But I know, that the maximum cylinder size can be max 65,536. So I think that MAX CYL should be the correct value.

The second problem is, that PhotoRec shows me 1600086528 cylinders (Screenshot below).

What is the correct value?

If your disk capacity is correct, don't bother with the number of cylinders.
