custom date or file type parameters?

#1 Post by johnnym »

Newbie question:

Been running PhotoRec for about a week now, looking for some recently deleted .wav files. It seem to be trying to recover everything since the day I bought my computer. ...and it's only at 20%

Is there a better way to do this that I'm not thinking of? I'm quite impressed with what it is digging up... but it's substantially more than what I need.

And it's taking a loooonnnnnng time.

Thanks so much!

Is the CPU at 100% ? Otherwise it may be a problem of bad sectors, in this case, there should be warning messages.
It can also be a slow disk (ie. USB1 or very slow USB2 disk)

I am sending it to a USB disk. Perhaps that's it.

So... I can't only search for certain file types? All or nothing?
