After using Photorec

Hi
I'm sorry if I ask stupid questions. with help of the site PhotoRec step by step I think I was able to recover most files of my dads deleted iPhoto library. My problem is now, that with my knowledge I can't do much with the information on the site "after using photorec". The MacOs implementation would be the right thing to be able to sort the files by extension.
I am thankful for someone to help me step by step on how to use that implementation (how and where I can enter the commands and so on).
