Recover everything

#1 Post by AndersWSP »

I need to recover everything from a damaged harddrive to a new one, it doesn't have to include previously deleted items. Currently I'm taking an image of the drive, but I only have access to 2 harddrives, the broken one, and the one where I want to make the recovery, which is where I'm placing the image. There's also not enough room for the image in the internal drive. So later I will have to find some other solution to storing the image and moving it's content to the appropriate drive.

So I have 2 questions.

Firstly, is there an easier way of recovering an entire drive, keeping file structure that doesn't require making a mirror first?

Secondly, what's the easiest way of placing the contents of a mirror onto the drive where it's currently located.

Any questions or help you can give will be greatly appreciated as it will make recovering drives easier in the future.
