Can't view recovered files in location

#1 Post by pghmediaking »

I used this to recover files from a Western Digital 4TB MyBook external HD and I cannot view the files in the location that it says they were saved to. Can anyone tell me I would not be able to view the recovered files that the software is telling me were successfully recovered.

Check your files in c:\Users\antho_000\01_Mediterranean Wellness\recup_dir.1

You may also have to take ownership of the directory

For some reason it saved them in the software folder that was created when I did the compressed download unzip. Another weird thing was that it created a ton of folders all housing the files that were retrieved. So instead of recup_dir.1 ti created recup_dir.1, recup_dir.2, recup_dir.3 and so on while renaming all the files to random names. Why do you think it would have done this in storage and in renaming the files? I have some major sorting through files now. Not the worst that could have happened but def very time consuming to say the least.
