Ah! This indicates that there are surface errors on your physicial drive. You need to use ddrescue to image the drive, then run photorec.

After spending a week learning how to use Linux and DDrescue, then creating a new image. I'm still having the same problem. Are there any special settings I should have used when I made my image? Again, I was not having problems with the drive, it was just an accidental format...

The file recovery performed on the new image continues to stop at the same point as it did before.
I'm VERY frustrated having wasted a week worth of time for no better results.
