Lost Files on NAS

#1 Post by Greylag »

I have deleted a bunch of pics from my D-Link 320 NAS and would like to know if TestDisk or PhotoRec will work on a NAS drive. I have since removed the drives to prevent overwriting deleted files.
If so, which would be the best solution to achieve recovery of pics.

I have a D-Link 320 NAS w/ 2 500GB drives formatted as JBOD, file system-not sure, either ext3 or ext4.

Also, if one of these is able to recover pics, should I place them back into the NAS to attempt recovery of the JBOD disk or attempt recovery of each disk individually?

Thank you.
