Case senstitive?

Hi,

I cannot find any files on a CF card of a friend using photorec. Normally when I help friends with recovering their disks or cards I get at least a few files. The card is 32 GB and has at least more then 20 movie files.

Could it be that the files made by her camera (Canon 5D) are always in upper case? So like FILENAME.MOV
Does photorec understand .MOV (instead of .mov)?

Thanks!
Bart

PhotoRec ignores the filenames. But be carefull to select [Whole] and not [Free] after selecting the partition.

Thanks. Yes, I did scan 'whole space'.
It was just so strange to find nothing at all! The problem was that the card was taken out of the camera when the camera was still on. Testdisk did not show any partition, but still then I would think some files would pop up with photorec..
I think we were having really bad luck. Or maybe I forgot something?

Edit: there was no partition data anymore, so [whole] happens automatically i think..

Run TestDisk, select the memory card, Advanced, Image Creation. This will create an image.dd file. Compresss/zip this file. If the resulting file is very small (<20MB), it means there is nothing to recover.

I made a image with ddrescue (directly), I got a 31GB image (the card is 32GB). All I tried (explained above) I tried on both the image and the card.
The card seemed to be defective though, could not be formatted afterwards..
