PhotoRec 7.1 hangs in Pass 1
When I run PhotoRec 7.1 it finds about 135-136 files and hangs at 767149/488377856 each time. I've let it run for 48+ hours. Any help? Any idea where I stand with this HDD?

What is the size of the photorec.ses file ?
If there are bad sectors, it may hang the program. In this case, you should clone the disk using gnu ddrescue from a Linux LiveCD. Here is an old tutorial: https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/Damaged_Hard_Disk

I got past the hanging up....but it doesn't seem I was able to recover any .MTS files. What handles MTS?
