Overwritten files

#1 Post by tytus »

Hello

I am using photorec to restore some photos from my disk. I'd like to ask a question about photorec and its capabilities.
Is it possible to restore overwritten files with photorec? I mean does it scan sectors to find lost files where new files are - so the old ones (lost) have been overwritten?

If a sector is reused to store new data, it's not possible to recover older data.
