Can I use the same Hard Drive to store recovered files but on a different partition?

#1 Post by Zombiehunter99 »

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if it would be all right to use the same Hard Drive that I'm trying to recover files from to store the recovered files on. I would store them on a different partition than the partition that I'm trying to recover the files from because I do not have another hard drive that I can use. I will be Using PhotoRec 7.0 and my Operating System is Windows 10 64 Bit. When I do run the the scan with PhotoRec how would I speed it up? Thank you, and I hope you can answer my questions.

Yes, using a different partition to store the recovered files is ok.
PhotoRec 7.1-WIP is faster than 7.0.
