Hi folks, I've recently formatted an SD card containing .mp4 video files off my camera. When I recovered, it's recovered them as .mov's and they don't play in VLC. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
Thanks and thank you so much for this software, it's saved my ass with photographs many times before.

Re: .mp4 Recovery not right
You should read the chapter "Recovering lost videos from a memory card using PhotoRec" https://www.cgsecurity.org/testdisk.pdf
Re: .mp4 Recovery not right
Did you try an external repair tool?
I have done this a couple of times with success.
After recovering .mov files with PhotoRec, they did not play at all. Applying a fix (e.g. videorepair), they worked well.
Regards,
Max.
