Manager accounting file recovery

May I start by saying how grateful I am for this programme which has enabled me to recover a lot of lost data. Being new to Photorec I had not appreciated that not all file extensions are recognised but since found out that custom extensions can be added. I am trying to recover files with the extension '.manager'. I have tried to follow the instructions (
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/Add_your ... o_PhotoRec) and added a .photorec.sig file to my 'Home' folder with - manager 0 "MANAGER" as my signature. I have a sample file in my 'Home' folder (sample.manager) but photorec still lists as unknown. I have checked that the 'Custom' option in 'File Opt' is switched on.
I have obviously missed something but not sure what and would appreciate any help you can offer.
Regards John

Hi Cgrenier, thank you for your reply.
When I try to attach a sample file I get "Invalid file extension: sample.manager" so have added as a zip file
- sample.zip
- Sample backup file of Manager Accounting
- (1.09 KiB) Downloaded 341 times
I did try to see if Photorec would recognise the file but it did not with error:
" SHA256: 4a0db7a032e216cd4bea7c6d8a0b376cd925afaaaa11183003367870665b447a
File size: 1569
ERROR: PhotoRec doesn't know this format."
FYI Manager accounting website:
https://www.manager.io/
Thanks again for any help you can give.
John

Thank you to those who have looked at my post and downloaded the sample file in an attempt to help. I have been away having surgery so have not been able to view this forum for about a week. I get the feeling that it is not going to be possible to recover these files. Is there anything else I can do?
TIA
John
