SD Card recovery

#1 Post by ViveLeRoy »

I guess this is a well known scenario: SD card with holiday pictures formatted before saving the photos on another drive. Is there any way I can recover these photos? I've tried PhotoRec but it doesn't seem able to recover anything. Is formatting a SD card that different from a normal harddrive? Any pointers so I can get this fixed or which settings I should use? My girlfriend is about to kille me :? (joking obviously).

The week has passed since your post. Recovering your photos normally shouldn't be any problem and that's where Photorec usually is the best. To get any answers you should post more details - which camera and operating system and etc.
But I believe most often unknown failure may be because of USB problems. Usually more foolproof is the dedicated card reader then camera connected with cable to PC.
