Forgive me, I accept that I am a complete moron. I do not understand any of the terminology used here. I ran photorec at the suggestion of a family member. I have run it 6 times. I am no clearer to understanding where it has put the 1559 files it says it has recovered. It says /testdisk-7.1-WIP/recup_dir
I am near tears in frustration.
Can someone please tell me, in the simplest way possible, what magical folder this is?
Where are the recovered files

Re: Where are the recovered files
When you get testdisk archive, where did you decompress it ?
If it's from some temporary directory, it may explain why you didn't find the recup_dir.1, recup_dir.2... directories
If you have difficulties to select the destination, it may be easier to use qphotorec the graphical interface.
