Using QPhotoRec v7.1(beta) to recover files from a RAW marked portable HDD

#1 Post by IanAL »

I think that QPhotoRec 7,0 & QPhotorec 7.1 (beta) operate in the same way as regards this query.
I have a 1TB WD-Elements 1088 portable HHD which has (due to mainly human error) been marked as RAW.
It contains mixed media files (both music (mp3) and photographs (jpg)) which QPhotoRec can & does detect.
I ran QPhotoRec for 24 hours and it recovered only a fraction of the files during this time (between 1 & 2%).
This seems extraordinarily slow? Am I doing anything wrong? Can I speed up the file recovery?

Do you see read error messages ?
When running QPhotoRec, chose Whole instead of Free when recovering from this partition.

You should try TestDisk, Advanced, Boot, RebuildBS, List. If you can see your files, choose Write, confirm, Quit
