LOST FOLDERS ON HDD 3TB NTFS

#1 Post by OlivierQROO » 20 Jul 2017, 13:18

Hi everybody !

I use to take a lot of pictures with my camera and phone.
I save all in an External NTFS 3TB HDD connected to a Windows 7 PC laptop.
Yesterday I wanted to backup some new pictures and when I put the HDD ON Windows asked me to repair the drive.
The process never stopped but I was able to use the Drive...

Now when I go to my Photo folder there are a lot of folders missing and some others with corrupted content.
I have lost like 6 month of content, 6 month ago I did a copy of my photo folder in another backup HDD, all the files from before this backup are OK and all the new one disappeared ???

I tried a CHKDSK /F /R nothing...

TestDisk backup.log give me :
#1500551225 Drive F: - 3000 GB / 2794 GiB - CHS 364784 255 63
3 : start=1818575915, size=544175136, Id=2B, *
2 : start=1917848077, size=544437093, Id=73, *
1 : start=1936269394, size=1836016416, Id=4F, *
4 : start=2844524554, size= 54974, Id=61, *

I don't what to do, could you help me please ?

Thanks in advance,
Olivier.

Ok on an external 1tb hard drive I had 13 years worth of photos, jpg's, but when I created a folder and moved all my docs, photos, music and downloads to that file the folder containing all the photos disappeared, I have now been running Photorec for two days but it seems to be stuck on 45%, dropping back to 38% now and again then returning to 45% again, I cannot keep photorec running indefinitely, can someone please tell me what is happening and how to fix it please? Thnx Steve.

Can you check the last recup_dir directory and list the files with the time/date ?
Do you see a new file added before each loop ? What is its name ?

Ok it seems to be 'recup_dir25' and there seems to be a picture that's popping up again and again but it has a different number against it each time!! other than that I don't know what I am looking for.....it will let me copy the list but wont let me paste it here.

Steve
I can add images but don't know how?
