PhotoRec no respond?

#1 Post by leewp14 »

Hi. I'm trying to recover my files from my 8GB USB (used 7.2GB)
PhotoRec seems able to recover my files but if I choose unformat FAT, after scanning sectors it will like stuck at the screenshot i attached below. Task Manager shows CPU usage of 10-26% for PhotoRec.
I leave it run overnight but still stuck at the same screen.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Task Manager shows no disk activity and very low CPU activity. Usually disk activity is high or if photorec is stuck in an endless loop (bug), high CPU activity.
What is the result if you don't try the unformat function ? Does it seem to freeze like currently ?

If no unformat, it finish without error but only a little files are recovered (9k files compared to unformat which found 30k+ files).
Actually seems like in the destination directory i specified, almost all lost files are found there. Is it possible to get back the folder structures of the USB contents? If could get back the folder structure then I my problem should be solved.
Thanks again.

Unfortunately PhotoRec can't recover the file structure.
