Can't access files on SD-Card

#1 Post by anbaum »

Hello!
I posted in the German part of the forum, but since there hasn’t been an answer yet... Apart from that: Sorry for my English!
I am having a problem with a 32GB SDHC card (from Transcend), where I can no longer access the (mostly) image files stored on it. By Photorec and with the help of this ingenious forum, I could already save a large part of the photos, but it lacks so far still the last taken pictures, which are unfortunately most important (it is the memory card of our school camera). I am an absolute amateur concerning data recovery etc., so I would be very grateful for any help!

I try to give as much information as possible on the problem:

1. Camera (Sony Alpha 5) and Windows (Translations from the German text: "You must be able to format the disk in drive F before you can use it" and "F: \ can not be accessed. There is no detected file system on the disk...”) can not access the files.

2. As far as I know, partitions are not created on the memory card.

3. Programs like Recuva can’t access the card.

4. Photorec was able to recover images, but not all (the most recent ones are still missing).

5. Chkdsk reports "The file system type is RAW." and can’t access it.

6. At Testdisk I have tried the following with instructions from various forum posts (unfortunately usually without really knowing what I'm doing there):
- Analysis with setting partition table type "none" did not find any partitions and with the setting "Intel" it said "Partition sector does not have the endmark 0xAA55"

- for the item Advanced and the setting partition table "none", type "ntfs" the message "Boot sector Status: Bad, Backup boot sector Status: Bad, Sectors are identical. A valid NTFS Boot sector must be present in order to access any data; even if the partition is not bootable." was displayed

- at the item Advanced and the setting partition table "none", type "Fat32" the message "Boot sector Bad, Backup boot sector Bad, First sectors (Boot code and partition information) are not identical. Second sectors (cluster information) are not identical. Third sectors (Second part of boot code) are not identical. A valid FAT Boot sector must be present in order to access any data; even if the partition is not bootable." showed up

More I do not trust myself without expert guidance (wich is probably better that way too ...)

I attach the testdisk log file, maybe it gives even more insights.

Thank you for all attempts to help !!!

Best regards

Andreas
