I'm learning about PhotoRec. I have known that Photorec uses file structure-based carving. Would you show me which algorithm is used in Photorec to search signature header/footer of file?

Many thanks for your help. I've read these documents. In my opinion, to identify the file type, I need to find the corresponding header / footer, (carving data techniques), but the document does not specify which algorithm to search for strings, how to find single string or multiple strings.
