Infinity loop when recovering files with photorec

#1 Post by camg1986 »

Hi people,

I'm trying to recover .jpg files from a hard drive and the program started a infinity loop while in the first step.
Above the details.

Version: 7.1-WIP

Partition Table:

Code: Select all

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/dev/sda 931.5GiB, 1000204886016 bytes, 1953525168 sectors
Units: sectors of 1* 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x6d2787d8

Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sda1 * 2048 718847 716800 350M 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda2 * 718848 975839231 975120384 465G 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda3 * 975839232 976760831 921600 450M 27 Hidden NTFS WinRE
/dev/sda4 * 976762878 1983523711 976760834 465.8G 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 * 976762880 977481727 718848 351M 83 Linux
/dev/sda6 * 977483776 987486207 10002432 4.8G 82 Linux Swap/ Solaris
/dev/sda7 * 987488256 1953523711 966035456 460.7G 83 Linux

PARTITION 4 DOES NOT START ON PHYSICAL SECTOR BOUNDARY.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Partition to be recovered: /dev/sda7
Partition Format: Ext4
Recovered data destiny: external hard drive
Loop Begin: sector 227xxxxxx (Changes a little)
Loop End: sector 228xxxxxx (Changes a little)

Is it possible to recover?

Is the number of recovered files really constant while in this loop ?
