Only half of the fdat/mdat mov combo working

#1 Post by MavroDrakos »

Hi there,

I've followed all the instructions I can find for the latest version 7.1 I've recovered some m_dat.mov and f_dat.mov files and have paired them up and managed to recover some video files...

all except the one I want. I've found one f_dat.mov file that doesn't have a corresponding m_dat.mov file. But it is followed by a 1GB .gz file. I've tried opening this but am getting an error message that this corrupted. Given the size I've file I'm hoping a good chunk of the video is there.

Is there anyway to recover the data in that file?

Thanks!

P.S. The files were created with a Canon 6D and I'm running the latest Mac OS.

In FileOpts, have you enable the option "mov/mdat Recover mdat atom as a separate file" ? It may increase the recovery rate.

I've already made those changes. I still get that one .gz file I suspect is the media file I want but I can't open it.
