QPHOTOREC has been running for 2 weeks.

Is there any way to speed this up? I am recovering files from a HD that had been accidentally formatted, and of the approximately 700-900 GB's about 230GB's have been recovered, but it is cycling between 1 and 3 minutes per usable file. So it says 'Pass 1 - Reading Sector (a bunch of files/ out of a bunch of files) 36%' it goes to '42%' then back to 36% when one file has been recovered. Mind you, it got to 36% quite quickly and has been cycling there ever since. Has anyone got any advice about how to make this faster? Thanks.

It is version 7.1 . The file families are from top to bottom: tx? 39182/ txt 37812/ exe 29822/ jpg 29677/ mpg 27186/ bmp 22179/ riff 12470/ png 5856/ gz 4148/ mp3 4133/ others 12613. Mostly there are JPG photos in the latest folders with the occasional word doc.
