SD card empty - 31MB instead of 16GB

#1 Post by Madman »

Hello,

i used a 16GB SanDisk SDCard in my NIKON D750 camera.
I shot a video with that card
unfortunately i dropped my backpack including my camera, while the card was inside my camera.
the result is that i cant see the files on this sd card anymore
it was ONLY 1 video file on that card

the problem is that windows/Linux etc shows that the card has only the size of 31MB!
I tried it with photorec...but i couldnt find any file on the card.

I am pretty new to recoverytools / photorec...
maybe i have to change the size of the card and search again?

Can anybody give me any hint?
I could also post some screenshots

When using PhotoRec, try [Whole] instead of [Free].
If it doesn't work better, you will have to contact a data recovery company.
Good luck

i used WHOLE but still nothing
and it searches through the SD card very fast.
thats why i thought that the SIZE of 31MB instead of 16GB might be the problem?!
Maybe it searches only the 31MB because it searches for 62688 sectors.

in the command line version of the program i saw that i have the option to change the "SIZE"?
but i do not know what i should set it to?
any recommendation?

thx
