HFS+ Filesystem (OS X) - Image option only, no list option?

#1 Post by stellarola »

Hey all,

I've looked on google and in this forum and struggled to find the answer. It's probable I missed it, but I figured I'd ask anyway -

When attempting to recover a failing HFS+ formatted OS X drive, I can't seem to see the option to "List" the files. This option has been replaced with "Image". I've seen this on a couple other drives. Is there a reason why I can't see the file list, like I can usually? I only need to grab a few files on this drive.

Best,

stell

Unfortunately TestDisk can not list files from HFS/HFS+ filesystem.
You will have to try other data recovery utilities if you can't copy the file from the command line (Start a Terminal and use "cd directory_name" to change of directory and "cp src dst" to copy a file).

I will do this. Thank you so much for the reply.
