QPhotoRec recovery

#1 Post by cgsis »

Hi

I have a 1TB external USB HD which has come unreadable by Windows but using the QPhotoRec utility I am recovering files off to another external hard drive, its been running for past 36 hours and is currently stuck at 42% and going very very slowly now, its moved 1% in the past 12 hours.

My issue is the laptop I have this running on I need to use for something else so if I stop the process and set it up on another pc can I make the QPhotoRec start at a particular sector or do I just have to start the whole process again?

Thanks

Carl

QPhotoRec can't resume the recovery, it's possible to do so with photorec. It uses a file named photorec.ses
But it may not work if you try to resume it on another computer as the diskname must remain the same (ie. /dev/sdb or PhysicalDrive2).
