how to convert note pad doc to ms word

very rcently i have saved some info in 'note pad'.
when i tried to open, all the info got juggled (say greek and latin) up,which i could not deciphor. can u help to recover the one i saved. in case u need to send the matter i will do so.
infact the subject matter stored was the web address of 1.all music sites of m.balamuralikrishna
2. web address of all my collections etc.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME TO RECOVER THE LOST ITEMS
