Command "sudo testdisk-6.13/photorec_static" on Photorec Step by Step is "command not found". I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32 bit. I need to try to recover data from a formatted and or deleted partition. Hard drive is NTFS (was running Windows 7) and i think someone tried the manufactory reinstall without backing up data. Now i am trying to recover pictures if i can.
I am still new to Linux but willing to try/use. Right now, i am running into problems running Photorec as describe in Photorec Step by Step. I get "sudo: testdisk-6.13/photorec_static: command not found". Any reasons why i get this error and how to overcome this?

Finally got it to work. just "sudo photorec".

I got it running on Ubuntu first time.
One of the easiest software to run and by God it is good at what it does.

I have been trying the sw on a few machines now and I noticed that sometimes it does not work (especially on CD or DVD media and drives). I found out that this is due to drive capability (compitability?) . However I found that the problem is solved just by changing the drive. It seems to like Samsung drives for some reason.

PS: I've tried this out on a PIII, P4, AMD and a dual Xenon server
also Ubuntu. Mint, (a few other Ubuntu derivites) and Stella which is based on Cent (Red Hat)
other than a few slight interface differences they all worked fine and at a good rate of speed as well.
