Re: Support for .vdata files
As this application doesn't encrypt the files but only renamed them, the original filenames should be recovered correctly by PhotoRec.
Correction: some files may have the word "obscured" prepended to them.

Re: Support for .vdata files
Would I need to add a record for .vdata ? Or would it work "off the shelf?"
Re: Support for .vdata files
SHA256: 1f9c8715c3ab3806c75589701617b9f6b2ad8364295099f8d3b6c13bcffa3e3e
File size: 5915
ERROR: PhotoRec doesn't know this format.
Feel free to contact the developper if you think that PhotoRec should be able to recover this file. Don't forget to provide this URL.

So I have to add a custom file?

Yes, you can create a photorec.sig (or .photorec.sig on Linux or macos) with
Code: Select all
vdata 0 "obscured"
