photorec resuming session suddenly shows "no harddisk found" Ubuntu 18.04

#1 Post by mrmagcore »

I've been working on recovering a 3tb drive. It's been fine, but slow, as one would expect. For several days, I've done recovery during the day and then started again from the session the next day. Today, it says "no harddisk found". The problem turned out to be that I had plugged in a micro sd card, then removed it, making /dev/sdd become /dev/sdb. However, I think a more informative error message here would be helpful. Perhaps "no harddisk found at [.ses file hard drive name]"
