#1 Post by srivatsa »

Hello,
I am trying to recover files on my Western Digital external hard drive. TestDisk stops at the same point "Partition: Read error"
The log file is below. I dont know how to paste an image here to show you a screen shot.

I'd be grateful for any help

Does your disk made strange noises ? It's probably a hardware problem, you need to contact a data recovery company.

Try PhotoRec. If after a few minutes it has recovered some files, try to clone your disk using gnu ddrescue

If it's not the case, my previous advice to contact a data recovery company still hold.
