j'utiliser votre outil tstdisk6.14. car j'ai un problème.

j'ai acheté un disque wd de 2tb, que j'ai formaté en NTFS.

il est dans un boitier externe, il allait bien en eSata sur un laptop

mais quand je l'ai mis sur un autre pc en eSata, windows ne le voyait pas correctement et voulait le formater

depuis, je ne vois plus que 931GB et plus moyen de voir les 2TB. le support de wester digital m'a proposer d'utiliser acronis true image mais c'est pareil, il ne voit que 1TB

le support de wd me dit : Si l'utilitaire Data Lifeguard Diagnostics ne reconnaît pas la capacité totale du disque, ceci indique que la table de partition est endommagé. Il faut procéder dans ce contexte avec le remplacement du disque

il faut savoir que j'ai déjà renvoyé un disque qui avait eu le même problème, croyant que c'était hardware, mais c'est manifestement software, ça m'a couté 16.20 euros en colis suivi aux pays-bas.

serait-il possible de faire quelque chose avec testdisk pour voir le 2TB et les formater ?

Faites un analyse avec TestDisk et postez le contenu du fichier testdisk.log

le test trouve Disk /dev/sdb - 1000GB / 931GiB - CHS 121604 255 63

je ne vois pas le bouton pour sauver le log ? il me propose deeper search

puis je utiliser mbr code ou delete ?

La création du log est proposée dés la première page.

En fait, si je comprends bien on peut forcer la taille en indiquant le nombre de cylindre etc ?

La référence WD20EARX-00PASB0 correspond bien à un disque de 2To.
Il faudrait utiliser les outils constructeurs (ou hdparm sous Linux) pour regarder s'il y a une zone HPA ou DCO.
Si c'est le cas, la/les faire sauter ("hdparm -N /dev/device", "hdparm --dco-restore /dev/device"...)
